In 1974, Dolly began building an extensive real estate enterprise. She bought and renovated hundreds of inner city apartments and homes, creating affordable housing for low income people, for alcohol and drug treatment and for abused women. She operated a general contracting company, and property management team.
A bank failed, her real estate empire collapsed, and she found herself in a $25 million bankruptcy. Hounded by creditors with no way out, she seriously considered suicide.
Dolly found she was not ready to give up. She embarked on a quest to find meaning in what had happened. A marvelous teacher appeared guiding Dolly to develop a new power within herself.
Refining the techniques she used to bring herself back from the brink of disaster, she reveals them in her best selling book, CHOOSING JOY IN THE MIDST OF CRISIS.
